Švedski black metalci Marduk bodo 6. septembra pri Back on Black izdali live album Beast of Prey: Brutal Assault. Gre za posnetek, ki je nastal med nastopom leta 2015, ko je band odigral album Panzer Division Marduk v celoti. Plošček bo izšel na vinilu, CD-ju in DVD-ju. Tracklista:

Iz tabora hrvaških doom metalcev Old Night sporočajo, da jih je zapustil vokalist in kitarist Matej Hanžek. Vrzel v zasedbi bo na vokalu tako zapolnil njegov brat Ivan, na kitari pa se je zasedbi pridružil Rafael Cvitković (Nekroza). Spodaj lahko preberete celotno izjavo banda:

»This is a post I write with a heavy heart, yet full of hope and with a bright look on the future. After eight years with us as our lead singer and frontman, earlier this year Matej decided to step down from his duties within Old Night. I know you are hoping for some gossip or a sassy story, but there was no drama involved. He just wants to focus on other things in life and at this point, music is not a priority for him. Having said that, I wish to thank him on our behalf for everything he has done for us, all the great times we shared on stage and backstage, but also for all the long hours he has put in working on our first three records. It was a privilege and you'll always be a part of our family. Obviously, this news has taken us aback and we had to figure out how best to proceed. We took some time to see what our options were, as this is an important role we needed to fill. After much deliberation we figured out we need not look outside our band for a perfect candidate as we have one in our midst. Ivan has been singing all the backing vocals from day one and from now on he will be handling all the lead vocals. No need to worry, he’ll remain our lead guitarist as well.

The only piece of the puzzle left to figure out was who’ll play the rhythm guitars? Without further ado, we welcome Rafael Cvitković, from the Croatian death metal machine Nekroza, as our new guitarist. If you attended our concerts, you might have already seen him filling in on sound checks or working on our merch booth. Nekroza just released their debut album on InsArt Records – you can check them out and show them your support.

With our line-up complete, we will continue working on our new record and we hope we’ll have some news in that regard soon. In a couple of weeks, we’ll have our first concert with the new line-up and we can’t wait to present you the New Old Night.«

Po tem, ko so se thrasherke Jenner pred kratkim razšle z bobnarko Seleno Simić, zdaj dekleta predstavljajo njeno zamenjavo. Nova stara bobnarka je postala Marija Dragićević, ki je z bandom sodelovala že od leta 2013 do 2021. Izjava banda:

»As many of you suspected, Marija is once again taking a place behind the drum kit in our band! For those who may not now, Marija is Alexandra's sister. She was the original drummer of Jenner, but had to take a step back from the band due to some personal issues. However, she's back and ready to hit the stage with us again! Join us in welcoming Marija back to the band!«

Ta vikend se bo v bavarski prestolnici zgodil Dark Easter Metal Meeting 2024, kjer bo 32 bandov v dveh dneh nastopilo na treh odrih, kakor je prikazano na priloženi sliki.

Ameriška doom metal zasedba The Obsessed iz Marylanda je objavila video za komad Stoned Back to the Bomb Age. Komad najdete na aktualnem albumu Gilded Sorrow, ki je izšel letos februarja.

Veljak norveške black metal scene Abbath se letošnje poletje znova odpravlja na turnejo po Evropi. Turneja z imenom Return to the Raven Realms Tour bo nekaj posebnega zlasti zaradi tega, ker se bo Abbath z bandom sprehodil skozi cel katalog komadov, ki jih je kot član legendarnih Immortal soustvaril med 1992 in 2009. 1. avgusta se bo karavana ustavila tudi na Dunaju, in kot pravi Abbath, bo celotna turneja nekaj posebnega:

»I can’t wait to get back on stage this summer to perform some old favorites that I haven’t played for a long, long time. Mark my words – it’s going to be loud and epic!«

Nemški heavy metal/hard rockerji Kissin' Dynamite bodo 5. julija pri Napalm Records izdali album Back With A Bang, s katerega si lahko spodaj ogledate video za skladbo Raise Your Glass.

Ukrajinski moderni metalci Jinjer sporočajo, da bodo 17. maja pri Napalm Records izdali prvi live album s preprostim naslovom Live in Los Angeles. Pred izidom albuma band oboževalcem ponuja live video z dotične izdaje za komad Call Me a Symbol. Tracklista pa je taka:

Alexey Polyansky se je po desetih letih vrnil k domačim progresivcem Seventh Station. Tako pravi band: »Please give a warm welcome-back shout-out to Alexey for coming back to the band after 10 years of absence. Alexey is a very gifted musician and he will fill up the missing gap in the band in the bass guitar role. Alexey was also the co-founder of Seventh Station and we are so happy to see him come home.«

Italijanski progresivni metalci Ghost On Mars bodo 3. maja pri Willowtip Records izdali dolgometražni prvenec z naslovom Out of Time and Space. Na svoj račun naj bi prišli ljubitelji zasedb, kot so Pain of Salvation, Leprous, Katatonia, Evergrey, The Contortionist in Soen. Seznam pesmi:

Italijanske simfonične death metalce Fleshgod Apocalypse, ki so nedolgo nazaj nastopili v Ljubljani, je zapustil ustanovni član/basist Paolo Rossi. Paolo je bil kot mnogi drugi glasbeniki v času koronavirusne pandemije namreč primoran poiskati službo zunaj glasbenega sektorja. Ko pa je življenje počasi stopalo v normalne tirnice, je Paolo skušal usklajevati novo službo z bandom, kar pa se je žal izkazalo za nemogoče. Prevladala je nova kariera, in Rossi se je odločil zapustiti zasedbo. Fleshgod Apocalypse bodo nadaljevali kot kvintet, Francesco Paoli, trenutni kitarist zasedbe, bo prevzel dolžnosti basista, Veronica Bordacchini (klaviaturistka in back vokalistka), pa bo prevzela še clean vokale. Pripeta fotografija je zadnje darilo oboževalcem zasedbe, gre pa za delo vizionarskega fotografa Francesca Esposita.

Bavarski thrasherji Battlecreek so napovedali tretji album, ki bo nosil naslov Maze Of The Mind in bo izšel 11. aprila pri MDD Records.

Poleg tega Nemci napovedujejo turnejo z Angelus Apatrida, v okviru katere bodo 4. aprila nastopili v Ljubljani:
